Thanks to Miki (and 5Faythe’s thread) I eventually managed to embed this :)
miki gParticipantHi Orla. I like the composition of this and think that the boats add charm to the photo. You’ve managed to retain detail under the bridge, which is usually quiet difficult in bright conditions. The far side of the bridge is very washed out, as is the sky, but this is a problem with trying to keep the boats properly exposed. I think this would be a good subject for a HDR shot, to try and get a good exposure for the lot. It has a chilly feel to it. I take it you took this photo early morning as the sun is low. Well done
ps When I embed a photo, I put (without gaps), I don’t know if this will work for you, but probably worth a try
orla_fParticipantThanks for the comments Miki – I’ll see what I can do with the sky/far side of the bridge.
I’ll try that, thanks.
SeoirseMemberSodafarlMemberOrla, very nice, think it is the first time that telegraph poles and wires don’t ruin a picture. There are all the things that Miki mentioned but still a great shot IMHO.

orla_fParticipantThanks Seoirse and Soda. I did think about cloning out the poles/wires but I felt they were not very intrusive so left them.
Orla.AedanCParticipantNice picture, makes me feel frozen already and it’s only early November. Amazingly still water considering it must be flowing.
You were right not to clone out the poles and wires, they add to this composition.
Is that the bridge in Killakoe/Ballina where they had the door hanging in the middle when Clare were in the hurling final via the back door many years ago?
Aedan
BMParticipantNice post, Orla.
Well done getting it embedded – you;ll receive more feedback that way.
Perhaps consider some ND grads to reduce teh glare/brightness at the far end of teh bridge.
Regardless, I really like this.
orla_fParticipantThanks Aedan and Brian.
Aedan, no, this is the bridge between O’Briensbridge in Clare and Montpelier in Limerick, a few miles downstream from Killaloe/Ballina.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Orla.
