Chrish the dress..

I was shooting a model recently and she brought her Ma’s wedding dress. I thought I’d do a few “Chrish the dress” type of shots. Do these look bridal?

A lovely set the first one is brilliant. The natural lighting, the pose and the surroundings are all superb.Soda
AllinthemindParticipantGolden hour light is still one of the best times to shooot IMO, stick the camera on Flash WB and look at those colours :)

5faytheParticipantHi Si,
I don’t know whether they look bridal or not but they look really good.
I love the tones in all of them.
The skin tone in #3 look really good.
I like the desaturated look of #2 although I might have liked a little
more room to the left of the frame where the model is looking. That said I’d be happy happy if I had taken these.

easParticipanthi Si,
Not sure they look bridal at all if I’m honest, although they don’t look out of place in the wedding section.
first one is stunning, I think everything is working well.
Is the pose in no.3 a bit odd?

I think they look more like modeling-
The first is great, though as a bridal dress shot, I think the bride might have gone with one showing a little more of her face-
especially if she had that face-As a modeling shot, I think someone might have had an issue with the left sleeve getting tangled in the skirt-
Good examples for a portfolio though, Would definitely sell the concept to a prospective customer,
and I presume that’s what these are for-Pose in the third, I’d agree, a little bit odd, and perhaps the second too- perhaps a little confusing.
The first is a keeper though, as they say-AllinthemindParticipantNo.3 is definitely a little odd…. :)
There was no intention of shooting for “Cherish the Dress” but I thought I’d see what I could do. As you say JB, I think I could show these and some others to a bride to give her an idea of what’s possible. I’m also trying to be “more modern” with post-processing styles, photography is my living and I sometimes wonder if I’m falling behind the times a bit.
Many thanks for taking the time to critique folks. Much appreciated.
