DANG!!!!!!!!!!!
very nice………..beautiful girl……..nice conversion ……..etc
2 thumbs up………
Just me two cents worth…….
RobMemberStunning portrait Cliff. That’s fantastic light you’ve got coming
in, really defines the contours of the face. The conversion is spot
on too. Would be interested in hearing what conversion method
you favour. Gorgeous model too by the way.
Love it…Rob.
AllinthemindParticipantLighting is fab, as normal, not too sure about that slightly worried expression, what were you saying to the girl? :)

jb7ParticipantWas this on camera fill Cliff?
quite a soft shadow on the jaw,
so it must have been bounced somehow-There’s a lovely tone to this,
but I wonder if you might lighten it slightly for printing?Lovely stuff as usual-

elludeParticipantRob – I usually use a method that involves making two new layers. The top one is fully desaturated, and then, using the hue/saturation adjustment on the middle layer, it is possible to get different looks by dragging the hue slider. I’ve saved it as an action so easy to set up. If you’re not familiar with this I can try to explain it more fully.
Alternatively, if I’m feeling lazy, I just desaturate the picture and then play with levels/curves to bump up the contrast.
Si – The expression is probably the result of me messing with the camera settings and muttering away to myself while trying to set the exposure, lol.
Here is a couple more from the same time….

Hi JB – sorry I missed this earlier!
I took the picture in a kind of narrow alley way, with red-brick walls on both sides (Christine is leaning against a wall at one side). There was some sun lighting her hair from the back but it was easy to see her face was much too dark. If I’d tried to expose for her face her hair would have been totally burnt out. So I tried to expose for the highlight of her hair and fill the face with flash.
In an attempt to keep the dark atmosphere, I pointed the flash at the wall opposite and used the little white card to direct some light forward (a small amount of lighting would also have bounced back from the wall).
It worked fairly well, but I also used the dodge tool afterwards to lighten her face some more.
Maybe also worth mentioning that, by using the conversion method mentioned above, it is fairly easy to lighten/darken parts of the picture simply by dragging the hue slider (although doing this obviously affects the whole picture and might not give the overall look you want).
SodafarlMemberCliff, I really like the B&W conversion out of them all a very pretty model.
SodaDJHParticipantSuperb Protrait, the tones work well. The models eyes are fantastic … great capture
Dara.BiddyParticipantNice mood on that last one . Would like to see more room in front of her eyes.
elludeParticipantThanks for taking time to comment :)
