Hi Jason.
As these are fashion shots, the clothing should be unobstructed & not cropped. #1 is a bit dark & the belt & hair in #2 is partially blown, but the texture of the garments is nicely shown. Otherwise they are very nice shots.
thanks Miki – showing my lack of knowledge there, thanks for the tips. I guess i was thinking the look and the pose were fashion :) – personally fashion aside i like #1 as a model image and #2 prob could pull exposure back a touch – done nothing to either in post these are straight from camera except the watermark applied by host website
Hi JohnBW.
My point was, as fashion shots are normally taken to promote & sell items of clothing & normally commissioned by retail chains, they want a clear view of the clothing. In these shots, it’s not clear how long the dress is (ie knee lenght or longer). If the shots were to display the belt or a top, cropping wouldn’t matter, so long as the belt or top were clearly shown. The model (although good looking), basically becomes a clothes hanger (no offence intended) & is just there to show how the clothes can look when worn.
Personally, I like how these shots were taken, but not as “Fashion” shots, but rather as portraits or model shots (used to promote the model herself) with a fashion look & feel to them. :D
