It is a very well exposed shot, retaining good colour and detail in the sky. However I think it just lacks a certain “something” in terms of composition and impact. I would probably start by cropping the grass in the foreground, but that could make your horizon fall on the centreline, which is best avoided.
I think I would recommend looking for a more unusual angle to shoot from Roberto – probably lower, and closer to one of the stones. It looks like a photo from a normal standing position?
Thanks for the comment Brandy…
I took the shot from small hill. Unfortunatelly not high enough. I was walking around and look for the best place and this was the best for me. i am sure that others will find some better position.
If I would go lower, the ‘circle’ effect would gone.
I cropped the grass but don’t like it.
Is this taken near Roscarberry in West Cork … Took some similar shots at a very similar location earlier this year .. it was difficult to capture the circle and actually none of the shots I tried from the hillside looked right so I’d be interested to hear any insights
Just wondering did you do something extra with the horizon/hill line to make it look darker through the mist ?
Mark
I don’t think so Mark…. there is a farm just down the hill from this spot and they lit a fire and the smoke lifted in layers … then there is mist, haze and cloud so it just turned out like that …
