Took a trip over to Claregalway on Saturday to visit the vintage Car rally.
I hav’nt been at one of these for many years, was a good day out.
It was late in the evening and a lot of Cars had headed off but I managed
grab a few shots with the Holga and the Mamiya.

Here is the first 4 from the Holga, more to follow from the mamiya.
[images shot on Fomapan 200 creative and developed in Caffenol=c with the tone added in PS]

Nice ones, I like the Porsche, and is that last one a late 70’s Vauxhall Chevette? Never seen a hatchback one and the boot spoiler is whats throwing me, though the wheels look the what was on the Kadet coupe version, my second car was a saloon about 20 years ago

It’s funny that the Holga shots seem to work best for me. The latter ones seem to have more distracting background times (and cars are usually less interesting from the rear).

    Thanks for the coments guys!

The Holga shots work better for me also, the
subject seems to fit well into the Holga frame.

I used the Mamiya on the more modern cars
and yea it occurs to me not that the backs of
the cars dont seem as interesting.

That last one is a Chevette . . . well spotted.
it belongs to a mate of mine and the front is
way more interestingwith 4 big lovely rally lights.

Here are 2 pics of a beautiful Beetle that was
on show. I seem to have been left with some
residue on the negs which were only present
after scanning, too difficult to clone, so I left them.

    Good set Alan
I agree the holga seems to suit best
I always find it hard to get decent shots at these vintage shows as the cars are so close together
The holga seems to separate the cars well
I must get a holga to give it a go

    thanks Cathald,
the cars were parked very close together, hard to isolate them is right.

I’ve been considering whether or not to get a Holga, and the more I see of what they can produce, the more I am being convinced I should get one. The first set of shots and the shots of the Beetle do look very well, and as you mentioned, the cars were rather tight together, so I think the Holga shots seem to suit these shots very well.
