Cleaning inside of Camera as well as sensor, How?
-
MartinParticipant
I’m sure this is the most boring question topic that gets asked but i cleaned my two camera bodies with eclipse fluid and swabs and all was great sensor was totally clean so happy days.
Problem is that by a week later the sensor was slightly dirty again. I think what caused this was that the walls surrounding the sensor contain dust also and fell onto the sensor which caused the sensor to get dirty again(correct me if you think i am wrong)
Does any one know how to try to remove the dust from the walls around the sensor. I’m reluctant to use canned air. Is there some sort of hover or something that can be used?

randomwayMemberI used a regular vacuum cleaner from a distance once or twice, it’s true that I haven’t been in the desert and don’t have mud inside my camera either. Otherwise giottos air blower works just fine for me. I’m not into absolute tidiness, it doesn’t worth spending so much time on it imho.

I did the same thing, first hoover then swab then hoover again, worked fine, did no harm, guess you need to be careful how close you put the hoover. How sick would you be to see the shutter curtain disappear up the spout. :)
MartinParticipantThanks guys I’ll give the Hoover a go. I don’t believe I’m going to try this but sure i’ll give it a shot :-)
vtecMemberi dont know what camera you have but with my D80 i used a small piece of velcro (the hook side) to comb the small fibers that were stuck in the felt inside the camera,., it worked quiet well and the sensor is perfectly clean now.,
LWheelerParticipantHi Martin,
Visible Dust have a product called Chamber Clean which is used to clean the inside of the camera for the very reasons that you are mentioning…. I haven’t tried this product myself though so I don’t know how well it works…
Check out their website to see what you think:
