    Decided to take my new lens on a trip to rogerstown estuary ran by birdwatch ireland

    Hoping for raptors and although saw 2 couldn’t get a pic, i think one was a hen harrier as stated by the birdwatch official
    the other i think could have been a merlin although all i could see was this big brown thing taking off.

    ISO 800 F/16 Exp 1/200 740mm

    ISO 3200 F/11 EXP 1/2000 800mm

    ISO/3200 F/11 EXP 1/2500 and 400mm lens with 2X extender at 800mm

    Your aperture of F11/16 is too high.
    You’re not letting enough light on to the camera sensor!
    I think that’s why they look a bit dark!
    I don’t know what the min’ is on your lense, but maybe
    someone who has one can advise.

    F/11 is as low as the lense can go with the tele converter on it

    ITs the 100mm – 400mm canon l len 4.5 – 5.6 and the converter doubles everything not just range
