Really like the first one with the track leading you through the shot.

Great set Mick #1 & 3 are great, nice lines in both and great tones, #4 would have like the whole ferry in the shot?but can see the balance with the wall!!

Love the first 3, but the last one is a bit too deep for me.

I have to say Mick, this set is getting better and better.
The consistency both in framing and processing these images
is definitely paying off and it should be quite a set when you’ve
finally finished. Three and four definitely float my boat here.
Any chance of some metadata on these? I astonished at the level
of detail you’re retaining at this scale. I can only imagine what
they might look like as prints…

    My usual Pavlovian response,
to sit, and wait, until the later batches come through,
appears not to be working in this case…

    4 good shots there Mick,
    all look carefully considered,
all sit well within their squares-

    The one with the mattress,
perhaps the least engaging in terms of ‘interestingness’ (I can’t believe that’s a word…)
is the one I return to most, probably because of it’s tonality-

So the pictures are all squares-
    that’s the rule-
but assuming the final selection goes to print,
will all the pictures be reproduced same size, do you think?

The one with the mattress is probably my favourite.
Think it has the most potential for a ‘story’, and the most interesting to me for that alone.

As for reproduction they could all be printed to the same size I’m sure.
I only crop left or right and not top/bottom, so all are nearly 3000px sq.
I’m guessing that’s enough for a blurb book – they do 7 inch square formats.

I’ll do the same with the farmlands project.
Probably do a racecourse project as well, now that I’ve shot one set I’m reasonably happy with it’s encouraged me to do more.
Off to Kilbeggan tomorrow to see what I can grab there.

hi. nice shots. i like the black and white ones more. The first and the third are really nicely taken. i couldnt make out the mattress untill you said it later on in the posts. Perhaps it would be better if the texture on the mattress was more obvious. As it is it looks like a slab of rock to me.
