Color Munki Display

i recently picked one of these up, i was never happy with my monitor and wasnt particularly happy with the results i got from the mac display calibrater either. anyway long story short the results seem really poor. after ive done it the screen gets really dull and warm, and just generally looks drastic in comparison to what i managed to achieve without anything. i tried screen grabs but they all looked the same so bad pictures are the best examples i can give. first image is adobe rgb preset on the mac, second image is what i achieved myself, third image is what ive gotten from color munki. the pictures probably dont do much justice. the lightbuld in the room im using is quite dull and pretty warm, not nearly as dull as it appears in the pics though. if anyone has any advice it would be great.
