    Two versions of the same pic… would appreciate you telling me which you prefer ?

    and ya… that earing… i tried to remove it afterwards.. but it never looked convincing :-(

    I’m only a learner/early amateur, but for what its worth, here are my comments. Generally, I prefer B/W but on this occassion the colour version wins out for me. The tones are very soft and give lovely definition. I don’t think the earing is distracting, but I did find the necklace (bottom r/h corner) a bit of an focal point, my eyes kept wandering back to it. The hair down is a lovely backdrop. Taking the photo and putting the model in the right hand side is nice too. For my money, the black and white isn’t sharp enough or something? Someone might be able to help me here with the technical language! My moneys on the colour shot, Niall. Well done.

    I’d agree about the colour as well. I think what Mary might be referring to is lack of contrast in the mono version..or rather it needs a little more.

    I still think in this case the colour image stands out better.

    colour for me!

    i usually think people look better in b&w but in this pic it has to be colour!
