Hi Denis,
Of course we are not aware of the circumstances in which this photograph was taken and
can only guess as to what was going on.A moment frozen in time like this can suggest a lot but can be misleading as well.
The expressions do hint at a certain tension between the two and your title lend further
credence to that impression.
There is a look of tension around both mouths and a certain faraway look in the eyes.I have heard it said that ” the camera never lies” but I’m not sure if that’s true.
Interesting image which has prodded my curiosity.
