Communion photo – Why do I get noise?

I’m using a 5d MK II Camera.
as you can see those photo which I was not happy with the images I have. I’m using1250 sec F2.8, ISO400
Don’t understand why so much noise at ISO400.It look like ISO1000.Is it me or the camera?
did you over expose post pro?
doesnt look too bad noise wise tbh. not sure bout canons, but older nikons wouldnt have been far off that
I cant see any noise, though would say it is a little overexposed, the white dress
really washes out her face, dont know if you shot raw or not but exposure could be
adjusted a little.how much did you change the exposure etc in your raw processor?
it wasnt obvious the noise in the smaller versions
At 2.8 you would have very shallow depth of field which would cause
the out of focus background, maybe that is what you see as noise?Give us an unedited raw file. It seems to me that noise appeared in post processing.
I have a Nikon D80 and the noise at anything above 400 is terrible.
When I compare this to my older D40x, the noise is really bad,. I have images with D40x at ISO1600 which are better than the current ISO400
The main reason I am in the market for a new camera TBH
DeeDeebo johnnycorcoran is 5dMkII wchich is very low noise production camera, no point compare it to nikon d80?
is it post production – how did the original look were they underexposed – if you compensated in photoshop or other it would add noise – could be the reason? if these are the originals its seems unusually noisy for high end camera.
