I keep getting this when trying to access t’internet, the only reason I can log
on here is it is saved in my opening tabs. Using Firefox and AVG anyone else
having problems? I googled “connection interrupted” and loads of pages came up but guess
what………CONNECTION INTERRUPTED came up when I tried to access them!!JodyParticipantJenny,
Make sure AVG isn’t blocking the Firefox application. I just read that this problem occured when Avast AV was doing the same thing.
You can also try resetting all your firefox preferences to their default and restarting. That worked for someone on the page I just read.
Failing that, you may need to roll back to Firefox 2. People are mostly seeing this problem after upgrading to Firefox 3

Did you get the problem solved? I am having the same problem. I have just uninstalled Firefox but I still can’t access a lot of sites, I am getting the same line you are getting. I also use AVG, now I am using IE but still having problems.
Its driving me potty!!!!!

JodyParticipantmiki gParticipantHi lads. I was having loads of problems over the last few days with connection proglems running on Vista. Apparently it’s due to server problems on Microsoft. It is usually at night when it gets really bad. Cannot log into Yahoo, Flickr etc but the icon at the bottom of the screen is telling me I am connected. Intermittantly it goes to local access only. Don’t know if this is of any help to you.
GenieParticipantJodyParticipantJanine,
Try this to see if it eliminates the problem. This isn’t a fix, but will help pinpoint the conflict.
Click on the Windows Vista button (What used to be “Start”)
In the Run box type MSCONFIG and press enter.
Depending on the security settings you have set, it may ask you if you want to continue or not. Choose to continue
MSCONFIG will open, choose the “Start” tab on top of the screen that appears
In there, look for any entry that references AVG and deselect it.
Click on the Services Tab next and at the bottom of the window choose “Hide All Microsoft Services”
Once hidden, deselect any entry in here that references AVG.
Click Apply and OK and restart your computer.
Test to see if the problem still occurs. If it does, then the issue is a conflict between AVG and Firefox.
Either way, you’ll need to follow the same procedure above to reenable everything you disabled to ensure your computer is protected. Once you’ve reenabled the problem will be back, but at least we’ll know what we’re dealing with and can come up with a solution.

shutterbugParticipantTouch wood mine seems ok now, I upgraded to Firefox 3.5 and cleared all
cookies etc, seems fine. I am using Avg free security and Windows Vista.
Just as an afterthought though, I also have Internet Explorer and was having
the same problems with that so I dont think it really had anything to do with
ISP’s. Probably a gremlin that was out of our control, clearing history etc seems
to work wonders :) I couldnt log onto Ebay for some reason but that seems
ok now.ps as another afterthought………I am using Windows firewall and I didnt have
Firefox ticked as ok, so I did that also. :)miki gParticipantJust a suggestion. You might want to go back to a restore point before you were having these problems. If it still continues it’s an external problem. Type in backup & restore centre. Choose restore point (it will find the most recent restore point) choose a different point in time (a list of restore points will display) pick a point before your problems started and click restore. this will bring your computer back in time PS save your current stuff (create a new point) before you restore.
GenieParticipantHi again,
Jody I did what you said and I am only llowed a cache view of websites. Like Jenny, I am not allowed onto ebay. I also cleared all cookies etc like Jenny did and tried what Miki suggested. I am convinced that it has something to do with Avg because my husbands computer is acting the same. He also has Avg but doesn’t have Firefox. Sorry for being a pain!!!
Janine
shutterbugParticipantHey Janine, I couldnt find a firewall on AVG and am using the Windows
firewall, but I didnt have AVG and Firefox ticked, so ticked them and all
seems ok so far, give a try you have nothing to lose.GenieParticipantWell it’s fixed. Tried a mixture of your suggestions and so far so good. Thanks everyone for your help, saved me calling in someone. I managed to fix my husbands computer too. :D
Cheers,
Janine
