Haven’t posted in a while.
This photo is from about two weeks ago. The lake was perfectly still for about 10 minutes (until the wind picked up) apart from some Arctic Char fish causing ripples. C&C welcome.
Image links to a bigger version.lousyParticipantHad a look at the larger version and am very impressed.
Nice composition and seeing the rocks below water and the ripple makes a lovely image.Pat
gregorParticipantThis is nice shot, for me it could be even better if the water was completely flat without these circles, but it looks nice.
BrickeeParticipantmgstParticipantI like it Podge plenty of detail in the foreground and i think the ripple adds intrest to the shot.
Mick
BMParticipantI have looked at this one a few times: I really like it. The low clouds and the still water are great. The composition of the foreground rocks and the mountains is very powerful with great contrasting colours.
Keep them coming!
kensutzParticipantPodgeMemberHere is a version for the ripple police. This was taken a little earlier than the first one. The whole lake was completely calm.
Now I’m not sure which I prefer.
MDCPhotographyParticipantLove these shots……….. did you man make the ripples or was it a fish ?
Water is really crystal and sharp, great shots
MartinParticipantFirst one is very nice Podge. Only suggestion is to play with the shadows in “highlights and shadows” area of PS to brighten up the bottom of the picture a small bit, other than that a super pic love the colours in the distance

In photoshop
Image->Adjustments->Shadow/HighlightsYou could also try and possibly will give better results
-: Move the fill light slider to the right to bring out detail in the shadows in the raw converter
-: Create a second image for the raw exposed for the foreground, use a mask then to bring the two images togetherM
Link below: Created two images from the above jpeg and masked them together

Dave.
Madra RuaParticipantI think it’s rubbish and I bet my one will turn out to be much more beautiful…
Great stuff Podge. Lovely light and well framed shot
I agree with Martin though.
You should try to brighten up the rocks in the front somewhat.BTW it’s not ‘Coom’, it’s ‘Coomasaharn’.
LandLParticipantVery beautiful shot.. Never been in Kerry, but always wanted to go.. heard that there is amazing landscapes. I like calm water which hugs the cold stones. Lovely clouds going down on the mountains.. Such a calm and beautiful place..
