aww how cruel! although yeah on closer inspection…ewwww :D even their name is ugly, whoever named them was obviously one mean person. like the reflections
Excellent detail Aidan, as I’ve come to expect from you. Not gone
on this composition-wise, but I suppose a lot of wildlife shots really
do have more of a documentary quality about them anyway.

Rob … I agree regarding composition. I was waiting to see what people would say. It was one of those snap moments when the parent was feeding the chick. I would have preferred to have been lower and to the left so I could get the chicks eye more in shot. A fence prevented me from getting lower and with my luck, if I had been left then I would have need to have been right :) That’s wildlife for ya!
It’s shot at 400mm and cropped from 8MP to around 5MP. I would have liked a frame filler but it would have been too small. Also struggled with how to crop it and ended up settling with this.
There’s still something nagging me about it…. it’s probably just the chick facing away from me…. damned ugly thing :)
