Copyright on Wedding photography

Hi,

Does anyone know if I hire a photographer for a wedding, does the photographer or the client own the copyright to the images?

photographer will always own the copyright unless the contract says otherwise.

in the case of no written contract, the photographer retains the copyright.

If the photographer is an employee of a bigger company, the company might own the copyrights.
