Cork Docks

Decided to do a little experimenting with processing and ended up with this kind of Lomo type effect. Not sure if it works though.
AnonymousParticipantA nice image but I’m wondering if it would look a lot
better without the boat being so central.
Obviously you had no control over that!
I think a B&W version would look terrific!Semmick PhotoParticipantI absolutely love the scene and the colours you used but there is something annoying me. I think its the composition. I dont mind the boat in the middle. But because the horizon is in the middle as well there is tension missing in the photo. I would crop the bottom and lower the horizon. Maye I would like it better then.
Yeah, I just tried the crop and it does look a lot better.
Great shot tho and I love the processing.
MarkKeymasterLove the look and atmosphere. I’d crop a bit off the bottom too tbh.
The photo isn’t about the boat as much as the docks themselves so loosing some of the reflection shouldn’t matter much. The docks are great. Haven’t been down there since the start of the year. Time to revisit I think :)
markclehaneParticipantThanks all…really appreciate constructive comments. Yeah, I think maybe I went a bit too far with trying to keep the image symmetrical. Not a huge fan of cropping too much off shots so I’ll give this another go soon. Always a good spot alright Mark. God knows there’ll be enough gloomy days ahead over the winter. Funny how photography makes you appreciate yucky weather

John, I actually took the shot with the intention of B&W conversion but it just didn’t have the impact I wanted for some reason. Maybe I should invest in Nik Silver Efex Pro :D

Aint that the truth. Every season has its beauty.
