Here’s a few from this year’s line up. Very enjoyable weekend, some great acts.

    Tonynho dos Santos

    Louis Stewart

    Georgie Fame

    Courtney Pine

I might go back over these and re-process, these were mostly a fly-by as I wanted to share but don’t have time to pore over each one but quite happy with the way they turned out overall.

Very good Stas, your usual high standard…

Being at the mercy of lighting technicians is always a tough
obstacle to overcome, but you’ve controlled your colours
exceptionally well in spite of that…

The weakest shot for me is probably the Georgie Fame one,
but the strongest by a long chalk is the Pine one. Great expression,
    light and composition. Cracking…

Hi Rob – thanks for the kind words and the critique.

What makes Georgie Fame the weakest for you? Composition? General interest? Softness is due to the smoke machine we all love and hate. It’s not the most dynamic though, I’d agree. He also had a keyboard on his left, so all you’d get was head & shoulders above a box of one shade of wood or another ;)

    Composition mainly Stas…

To be honest, it does look a bit random, if that’s the right word; Georgie’s position
in the frame, the almost straight on approach, the inclusion of the upright as well as
the boom of the mic stand (and even that is incomplete)…

A crop might work better, losing the stand, losing the spotlight on the backboard of the
organ. Worth playing around with maybe…

I think number 1 does it for me, cracking shot really.

Thanks for the pointers Rob, will definitely play around some more later in the week. Good to get different peoples’ perspective on things.
