Cork meet up

Just a reminder about this in case anybody has forgotten or changed their schedule hehe!

This Saturday is looking good weather-wise (if today is an example of this week’s weather it’s a great sign) – met.ie shows no rain, 12-14C and winds from the NE and E through the afternoon.

    Hi,

Have we set a where and what time for this meet up. From a parking point of view maybe we should stay outside the city center, just my thoughts…

    Hi Folks,

All gone very quiet on this. Is it going ahead or not?

If these forums had a ‘poke’ facility, there would be plenty going out about now!! hehe. Anyways, I’m available and I assume Kevin above is too – we’ll just need a few more nods here so that it doesn’t result in one or 2 people standing outside a pub in the rain on a Saturday afternoon :-)

It be worth pm’ing those others who expressed an interest (thats what we’d normally do tbh) which from what I can make out were:

I’d love to have gone but have a in-laws family birthday I have to head too on Saturday.

Out of interest, where are you hoping to meet and then go to ?

As it stands, it has been suggested 2pm, and for ease of parking/meeting – meeting at Grand Parade to first discuss ideas, tips etc and from there plan a route or a few places/subjects to shoot. If anyone knows of any events or happenings in or around the city centre, those would be ideal opportunities – with today being daffodil day, I’m sure there will be newly bloomed daffodils and other flowers aplenty in a few spots (bishop lucey park for example).

If a later meeting is preferred to accomodate late/night shifts, then perhaps we could push it to 3pm or even 4pm?

Can make 2pm – 3 at the latest. Can we confirm Grand Parade by the walkway?? Let me know and I’ll be there. I suggest that we walk to Fitzgeralds Park, taking in the shakey bridge. What do you think?

right , so we meet at 2 on Grand Parade , where exactly, maybe Grand Parade / Washington St corner?? , and i think The Fitzgeralds Park is ok, if there is no any playgrounds around ;-),

how about Gloria Jean’s coffee hut outside Bishop Lucey Park on Grand Parade 2pm then. Just look for the people carrying camera equipment! lol

Out along to Fitzgerald’s Park etc sound like a good direction to go. If anyone thinks of something else we are all ears :-)

Oh wow Tom, great shots. Only for I was there myself to see you take these shots I would not believe it. I was on the same walk about but none of my shots are nearly as good as these, but that does not mean I did not learn a lot from walking around with ye today.

    GOOD work ……

Great to hear you enjoyed the walkabout – It’s a great opportunity for both practicing, learning, chatting and just having fun! Oh and thanks for the positive feedback too :-) that’s always a plus! More meet-ups or excursions would certainly be great and give us all a little more time out hehe.
