Ah thats very much a Cork photograph, well captured in my opinion.

Good exposure. Love the panoramic format.

It is indeed a good exposure, and technically very good… but I think it’s missing a focal point…even if the sky were more dramatic!

I like the look of the church even, maybe you would work with that?

I like it as well but would probably crop a little of the sky off the top as it would make the clocktower look more imposing and hold the viewers focus a bt better.

Its hosted on smugmug.. and it’s a really superb image. Technically spot on and I think compositionally it’s very strong with the church being the main focal point.

Nice start to the forum Frank

    Interesting comments all – thanks.

Actually, when I was cropping, I thought about removing a little of the RHS – but I just liked the lights going up the top of the hill, so left them in !

Otherwise, it roughly follows the ‘rule of thirds’ – and in this case Fajitas – I think the church is the focal point.

Anyway, I will try a few alternatives and see how they come out.

Righto, was only giving my point of view – If the church is the focal point, there’s too much bringing the eye away from it.

Anyone who is familiar with Cork knows that the church is the focal point ;) :D
