Nice set of shots.
Like #1 best but being a musician I’m probably biased. The closed
eyes concentration (into it man) of the gentleman on the right is nice.
Your focal lenght too suggests to me that you were down amongst your
subjects. (BTW I have no hangup about long focal length street)
Thanks for the comments. The buskers were really going for it there!
Yeah I am using a 30mm Sigma on DX so just a little wider than a normal lens. That way I don’t have to think about zooming and it seems the best perspective for street shots.
I like 1 and 4 the best. 1 is an unusual composition and good to get so close up. You have the right idea getting close to them.
No. 2….in general for me, shooting (i.e. photographing) people’s backs does not generally work…difficult to pull it off and this doesn;t really do it for me. I think if you crop off the bench and the cobbles it improves it.
No. 3…..nothing really striking in the shot, but its good that you have the confidence to take it….its one of those shots where you could get lucky with an unusual facial expression or something like that. in this one you’ve captured a moment but not a particularly dramatic one.
No. 4 I like, compositionally good, I like the sign inside the window, its quite a brag, and the man himself seems like a character, with the smoke and the stick etc.
Good set overall.
(p.s. would be no expert myself, just giving my own opinions).
