The image is well presented, with nice exposure and colour.

If I was to suggest an improvement, it would be to the composition. I assume that you are trying to show the boat within the landscape, rather than just taking a shot of the boat. In this case, the boat dominates the frame, and acts as a visual block to the rest of the scene. If it was possible without getting too wet, I might have tried to step back and to one side of the boat, and had it running in from one of the bottom corners of the image, intruding into no more than a third of the frame, with the landscape then being used to balance the composition. (If that makes sense!)

Hi Steve, cheers for taking a look and your thoughtful feedback. I can see what you mean about the persective being a little unusual, but that’s why I’m quite fond of this shot. I do think I see what you mean about trying a different style of composition that might have drawn more attention to the scenery rather than the boat itself. Here’s another shot from the same day, that may be a little more up your street.

Your second shot is so much better than your first one IMO. However I do feel that you have too much sky in your photo which competes with your foreground. For that reason I would suggest that you crop out half the depth of the sky ( just below that large cloud at the top of your picture)

Cheers Tex, you’re right about being able to lose a bit of sky, I’ll give it a go.

I would keep the sky, it looks well balanced to me.
