taken on one of the first few days of my trip to ireland may ’06. it was originally shot through the bus window and it sat in a folder for two or three months before i figured out what i wanted to do with it. did the normal edits (including sharpening) then i ran the midnight sepia action twice on the original (available for free at atncentral.com), once with the g.blur, once without the g.blur. then layered the two so the g.blur version was on top and masked out the house and partially masked some of the foreground so it was sharp. then played with tone, lighting, color etc.. i like how it turned out, but the original wasn’t great at all. c&c welcome.
bethMadra RuaParticipantI can’t see no pic :(
But that might just be our server blocking a remote link.bethParticipantthats odd.. i posted it in the gallery, and i can see it..

DenverDollParticipantRobMemberWelcome to the site Beth.
Beautiful image, almost looks like a painting.
Worthy of a high quality print I’d say. Amazing to think
it was shot through a bus window. Very nice work.Rob.
bethParticipanthaha, thanks logill, nice to see you here too!
thanks denverdoll and rob.
bethS-ManMemberbethParticipantJay KingParticipantLovely shot… as Rob said it almost looks like a painting. Great post processing on it.
Composition is great too, everything in it looks in it’s place…. except,
there is a small bit of shrubbery (I think!?) which is jutting up over what looks like a pile of stones between the cottage and gate… Not sure what it is but I don’t really like it!! (only a small thing I know, sorry!)
MartinParticipantVery nice shot Beth. Has a nice mood to it with the clouds and mountains in the background. Nicely composed, i think you have everything arranged in the frame very nicely

DavidHeffParticipantmgstParticipantjoe_elwayParticipantbethParticipantthank you jay king, its ulex, which i believe you call gorse. it doesn’t grow in america, i had only heard about it in bio classes until i visited last summer. normally, if it were a common american shrub, yea, i’d clone it out without second thought (and do it to many pics i take here). but i decided to not take out anything in this image just because it looked so irish, very unlike anything in america.
thanks everyone. i left the extra space on the left side so i have room to print different sizes and ratios without loosing part of the house or fence..
