Been away from the lens for a while but I’ve a little bit more time for photography this time of year, nice to get back out again.
    thanks for looking…

unfortunately the light was not doing you any favors that day… maybe if you’d sacrificed foreground for more of that turmoil in the sky it might have been a bit more effective? unfortunately the greens tend to go quite awful when there’s no sunlight…

Nice sky!, is it a HDR layer?. The sky is great, the lighting just a little flat but the sky helps to improve. I just find the composition a little confused, Its hard to interpet whether the shot is about the cottage , the tree or the sky. If its about the cottage , you have it at a bad angle, if its about the sky then possibly too much foreground and if its about the entire scene with the sky complementing the wildness of the scene then maybe 20 yards to the right of where your are, positioning the cottage on the left lower access of the thirds might have provided a stronger composition and more balanced feel to the shot. Just my opinion , hope that helps…

the light on the day was not great,
the scene is a bit too dull – a little brightening would lift it a bit.

thanks for comments all, much appreciated
not HDR…agree on lighting…I was caught with wanting to get out for an hour or two (but it was pouring), and wanting to get back in time for hurling final replay!
all comments are helpful, thanks again
