In the sense that there are two people and two is usually a couple. I don’t know if they were waiting for a bus either but I was.
DaveAllinthemindParticipantLoGillParticipantyup …. Me likey :)
Could use a bit more contrast IMO… but its such a nice sentiment to catch at all.. Love it :)
Lorraine
joolsveerParticipantI am going to have another try at post processing it but it’s the subject matter that I found appealing as I don’t usually have the hard neck to take street shots.
Thanks for your comments.
DaveAliParticipantAWWWWWWWW :D This is absolutely gorgeous.. and they are definitely a couple. :) Well done Jools, really inspiring shot.
Noely FParticipantLove the heart shaped composition, the two heads and the angle of the girls arm…Ahhhh L’amour :)
PaulGParticipantA couple? No, I think it’s the new way of asking someone for a light instead of ‘Gis a light mister’ and thumping the head off you :D
(Mental note: Start carrying a lighter!)
Noely FParticipantciaranParticipantAt first I wasn’t particularly drawn to this and I’d tend to agree with Lorraine in that it’s a little flat and could do with a touch more contrast. But then when Noely made the comment about the love heart and I looked deeper, I thought.. WOW. Ok, it may not have been intentional in the composition, but it makes all the difference between an OK and a really nice shot. Well done.
AnonymousParticipantThere was a famous french photographer who captured images such as this, particarly in paris when the soldiers returned from the war. Very sweet as he photographed them seeing their girlfriends/wives for the first time since they parted, must find out his name, will get back to ya..

Ben 8)I think you mean Robert Doisneau (probably spelled wrong) ?

joolsveerParticipantI have had a new go at post processing this file. The crop is different. Any advice please on getting the background to be less intrusive?
DaveLoGillParticipantYou definately brought up the contrast , that looks great ;) But in my oppinion the original crop worked better … the love heart shape etc.
I dont find the background particularly disracting – you could try a lens blur effect in PS ?
