I looking if anybody does courses on landscape photography in dublin cheers
fguihenParticipantIm not sure on any courses out there that are landscape specific. IMO you dont need a course, and you just need to get out there and take some photos.
The best way to learn about composition of Any topic ( landscape, portrait, etc etc) is to:
1. Get out there and take photos. after each shot look at it on the camera screen and check it works for you. Check its sharp and check its not blown out or too dard ( unless thats what you aimed for).
2. Post your images up here for some critique. dont be afraid of constructive criticizm. People here are very helpful so take any advise with the good nature it was intended. Examine your photos based on the advice and see if you agree, and you understand what their view point is. Then get out there and use that new info the next time you are shooting!
3. Join flickr, browse the landscape forums here and landscape forums on other sites. look at loads of photos. Identify really good photos and determine WHY they look good. There are no rules to phtography but there are some general guidelines that help improve your images. Look for these in the images, ask photographers why they used a particular composition, viewpoint etc.
I tried reading every magazine out there and buying photography books on the do’s and donts of good images. They are ok, but no substitute for getting involved with your own photos and examining other peoples! If you enjoy it it wont even feel like hard work!
Good Luck!
ollbyrneParticipantHi
Check out the photography courses in Scoil Mhuire Clane in particular the Fetac one. There held by Bernie O Reilly an excellent photographer and a specialist in landscape photography. Check out her website. http://www.bernieoreillyphotography.com/
You will definitely not regret doing it as I’m on the last stretch of my Fetac one.
Try to get away from the computer as much as possible and get out there and shoot and meet other photographers.
Best of luck.
