Crab Island, Doolin

Very otherworldly, dramatic mood.
I like the overall atmosphere in this image.I am not sure I like the colours, but they have a certain appeal.
The composition is interesting but seems to lack something in the midground.
The island and the rocks on the right seem a bit soft.Lovely stuff Kevin.
Is that a breaking wave on the LHS below the horizon line? The rocks out in Doolin look like they’re living growing things.

Hauke, you confirmed my thoughts on the image. The island and rocks on the right are indeed soft. It was getting very dark very quickly out on the rocks so I was in a rushing a bit. I must try to get back there with more time on my hands. I also agree with you on the midground, I would have gone for a lower composition but I wanted to keep some separation between the rock at the bottom and the coast.
Thanks Sean. Yes, that’s a wave breaking on the lhs. I can’t take any credit for timing though because it was so dark that I didn’t see the wave until I was processing it!
