Crested Butte

Snaps from a small town in the Rockies called Crested Butte that likes old cars and stuff. Camera gear was not the greatest. C & C, advice, opinion welcome, Cheers & Slan.
MarkKeymasterGetting late so I’ll only comment on one for now :) .
The one with the number plates on the wall, really unusual, lots of colour. Really good.To improve it, it might be worth cropping out the table on the bottom left ?

Oh by the way, you can use the gallery feature above on the menu or this link:
https://www.photographyireland.net/album.phpAlso, some instructions here if you want:
https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=1019Its another option for storing the photos instead of using the ‘Add image to post’ option when you post something.
BertieWoosterParticipantWith the exception of the first one I?d regard these images as being more about vehicles than the location. That?s just an observation, not a criticism.
I like the first one very much. It has an element of nostalgia and, with its old car and buildings, it looks like a street scene from the 50s. That sells a lot of travel images as many travellers want to go back to an old world for their holidays.
The modern jeep is a minor exception to the old world scene. Probably it would be hard to clone it out in Photoshop. If the saturation could be pulled a little too, to make the colours of the buildings slightly more vibrant, it might help. Otherwise there is a good focal point, good balance, etc.
I like it a lot.
Cuba is famed for its old American cars too, by the way.
AliParticipantI really like the first shot :) , love it in colour but i’m dying to see it monochrome with a hint of sepia?
RobMemberLike Ali and Bertie I’m drawn to the first image more than the others. As Bertie mentioned though, it is a bit of pity about the jeep. Still a really nice shot though. Well done. 8)
griangrafParticipantA chairde,
Thank you for your feedback. It has been very useful. All of these shots were very much taken ‘on the fly’. Hence the problems with jeeps and the like. They were taken with a 350D and 17-85mm IS EF-S which has been giving me alot of mixed results colour and sharpness wise. I choose this setup because it was light and with all the travel restrictions to the states it was the best option. I have converted the first shot to monotone-sepia. However, I don’t think I did a particularly good job. If anyone what’s to have a crack off it be my guest. As regards cropping the number plates shot it cleans up the shot alot. However, ‘the table’ is actually the corner of someones front door!! You can also see they’re front porch light as well in the shot. The town of Crested Butte is quite close to a place (town) called Fairplay which is also known as…………SouthPark. This might explain some of the oddity of the place.
Once agin cheers all,
Slan
