CS3 50% discount for Elements users

JMcLParticipant
Just got spammed from Adobe, they’ve a 50% off offer on CS3 until the end of the month for anybody with a registered copy of Elements (any version, 1 through 6, as opposed to the “last 3 versions” rule that usually applies). It works out at ?416 including VAT which is sweet. The offer works via a presumably unique link in the email, though you can apparently call customer service as well, though from what I’ve heard of Adobes customer service, that’s somewhat akin to descending through the seven layers of hell. Now to dig out the Elements 2.0 that came with my 300D!

richiehatchMemberIf ye find the link will ye post it up here…? I’d say there would be a few more than interested…!
Richie
JMcLParticipantRichie, the link has a unique token. I coughed up earlier, and when I tried to revisit the page I get “The access code you provided is either invalid or has already been used”.
If anybody wants to try the customer service route, which looks less specific, here’re the details from the mail:
To order by phone, call 1800 946197, press Option 1 and mention
the promotion code: JTBV.Elements isn’t referenced at any point in the activation, nor do I have the qualifying version installed on my current machine, so I’m not quite sure how they verify that it’s a legit upgrade. Possibly the email is linked to the earlier Elements registration, and calling the phone number will allow you to quote the serial number. It’s worth a go.

MarieCParticipantHi,
Did anybody manage to do this that didnt get the email sent out by adobe?
I am very interested but my elements was never registered (Doh) and a recent version 6 just got installed and registered but after the email got sent out.
Any advice would be great :)

MarieMarie, try the customer service number and see what happens. It just seems to refer to a generic promotion code. I had a quick web search, and there’s a similar promo going on in the US at the moment, where you call the number and quote the Elements serial number. It’s certainly not as pain free as just clicking on a link, but if it works, it works!

MarieCParticipantWell I just bought Photoshop CS3 for €426.52 so I am very happy with that….I know the offer is a sign of a new release of Photoshop or Lightroom but still a good price.
I mentioned I didn’t get the email so he looked for my registered copy (which was registered yesterday!) and that was fine. If he couldnt find a registration I dont know whether the serial code would have been enough as he did re-create my registration anyway.
Anyone interested should certainly give ringing a go and you are dialing a sales team rather than customer service which I found no problem and only a very short wait.
Marie :)P.S. Thanks John for the advice to ring :)
JMcLParticipantMarieCParticipantWell today my copy of PS CS3 arrived….it all looks fine :) not even on my credit card yet but I am sure that will also arrive in time
Will load it at some point this week :)
Very Happy, so thanks again for posting this item as it saved me a small bundle which can now get spent on other goodies :D
MarieMr.HParticipantJust thought I’d bump this – looks like the offer has been re-introduced – ending 31/07.
I took the bait this time, and am awaiting delivery – looking forward to being even more perplexed in the near future!
