ok I go my chemicals for development.
now, I got Kodak D-76 to make 3.8 lt of stock solution.
this will keep me going for a looong time. which way it’s better to conserve it? prepare 4x1lt bottles of stock solution, or to prepare just 1lt and leave the powder in the bag??
    which way is the best?

    thanks!!!

I’d say just mix 1 litre of stock solution and seal the rest of the ower up.

    too late :)
the roll of Delta 100 is already in the paper bag ;)
at the end I found a way to measure 3.8 lt of final volume, so at the moment I divided the developer stock solution in two bottles. one that holds 2.5 lt and the other of 1.5. obviously I filled them to the top (to minimize air content) and store in a dark place.

anyway, I am happy with the first trial, now I have some HP5 to keep me going :)
the only problem is some smear from the drying… maybe too much photoflo or poor tap water???

    thanks!!

A tiny drop of photoflo is all that is required but your tap water will not help if its dirty. Get a Britta Filter Jug so you can use clean water with the photoflo.

Give it a rinse again in filtered water and very gently wipe the film with your fingers. Final rinse again in photoflo and hang to dry.

Use distilled water ( can be bought in car motor factors shops) for final wash with wetting agent or spray negatives with distilled water and wetting agent where you hang them to dry.

    Hi,

New to this but I found you can get two litre bottles of drinking water in Dunnes for 37c each. I used it for mixing developer, fixer and for the fianl wash . . .
