A very cold and stark shot. The overexposure gives it an uneasy feel, excellent. It’s a bit of a pity the top of some of the poplar trees are missing though.
I want to go there. I think this image presents the desolation that we can only imagine, so well. I won’t repeat the photographic merits as have been stated – but I think the image, and its content and history go way beyond the artistic attributes.

Haunting image. It took me back to 1969 when I first saw the Liverpool Sculptor Athur Dooley’s Dachau in Oldham art gallery. This was the crucified Christ in rags depicting the sorrow and suffering at Dachau.
