Do I need more movement in the grass?
And a slightly different take………
Steven I love the first one. Bright light and colours while being contrast by the darker light of the grass at the back. The second doesn’t float my boat as much as the first though.
Excellent first shot Steve, as Brian already said. I think there’s more than enough movement in the grass to make it interesting and the plain sky doesn’t distract the eye from the subject of photo. The only problem I have with the second capture is that there are too many bright spots in the centre of the frame which seems to create a sort of glowing circle as if created by a spotlight.

Thanks Brian and Rob. I agree the second shot is the weakest. Looks like I used the flash or something!

Like: Colors and sky in both
Dislike: Light flare running through centre of portrait and not enough movement.
