Dangerous cliffs????

It looks like it was pretty bleak when the shot was taken… so if it was me I’d play on that and process it to enhance the bleakness. As it is it’s a bit flat (water/sky) and other than the yellow sign doesn’t really give off anything other than that flatness. I had a play in Lightroom and it looks better with some processing.
The buildings in the background look a bit soft and lack detail. Not sure what settings you used here but I’d have shot with a smaller aperture to get everything detailed.
Check that horizon as well.

slang61ParticipantCheers nfl.
feel free to post any changes
only use very very basic “photoshop”
just recently got into photography and seem to forget all advice whn i am actually taking pics.nfl-fanParticipantWell.. if you want good landscapes you need to be prepared to make yourself available for good light.
5:15am I had to get up last Saturday morning to make it to the beach for 6… once you get that amazing sunset and you get the basics of the shot right then you may not need a whole lot more in terms of processing other than the basics (balancing exposure, touching up colours, contrast, sharpening).
Failing good light… landscape photography isn’t as easy… and in the above shot it just looks like a really flat day… so you’re doing yourself no favours… and often processing might be your only saving grace.
J
slang61Participantnfl-fanParticipantIt actually doesn’t look as bleak as the first.
Shot at F9… I might have expected there to be more detail in the foreground… maybe not… might depend on your focus points… not totally sure.
I would have probably looked at shooting at maybe F16 or higher and taking in as much detail as possible… cos you really don’t want to blur that pleasant background.

slang61Participantnfl-fanParticipantThe Exif data is embedded in the image posted. I use a software app called IExif (Google it – is free) that allows me to view the shooting info when I right click on the image.
It’s often useful to be able to see Exif data on shots.. cos you can see what people are using to take shots or maybe diagnose problems.
I usually leave it embedded in mine.. some people remove it.
