Can you be a bit more specific? Where? What?
developers fixers , carlow kilkenny area
thedarkroomParticipantI’m not too sure about there but I used to buy stuff in Hennebry’s on the Quays in Waterford and in Mulligan’s Chemist near the clock-tower. I’m not sure if they still do it now though. In Wexford town, I used to get stuff from Hackett’s Chemist on the Main Street but that was a good few years ago. There used to be a Fuji shop in Kilkenny near the Book Centre and I remember one of my students one time getting stuff there but I can’t remember if it was to special order and it could be ten years ago now.
Steve’s suggestion of Paddy Barker in Cork is a good one or else you’re talking about Dublin, Gunne’s in Wexford Street is a popular spot or Bermingham Cameras (01 6772205) on Burgh Quay. Bermingham Cameras do mail order for cameras, I’m not too sure about chemicals and I don’t know about Gunne’s but you could give them both a ring to find out.
Photologic (01 4657600) supply Kodak materials and they deliver around Dublin but I don’t know how far they will go or if they have minimum order values.
I have bought stuff from http://www.photomart.co.uk/ and found them very efficient and good value and I have heard good reports about http://www.silverprint.co.uk/ so you could give them a call and see what they would charge for delivery.eunified61Participantthedarkroom wrote:I’m not too sure about there but I used to buy stuff in Hennebry’s on the Quays in Waterford and in Mulligan’s Chemist near the clock-tower. Gunn’s on Wexford street in Dublin will mail item out as far as I am aware.
I’m finding Gunns is always out of stock or low on stock these days. I’m using Silverprint.co.uk and macodirect.de for everything now, that’s where I would go if I was you….M

MarkKeymasterHardware
– Film Developing Tank to put the film into for developing (e.g. Paterson)
– Measuring jugs for the chemicals + water
– Thermometer
– Something to mix the chemical with while in the jugs
– Film clips to have the film up on while its drying – one end is weighted to help keep the film straight.Chemicals
– Film Developer – (I use Rodinal)
– Fixer – (I use Agefix)
– Wetting agent to help the water dry without leaving streaks –(I use Agepon)I use water as a stop bath, ie to stop the developer when the time is up.
Think thats it…

thanks mark
thefizzParticipantMark has covered it well, I’ll just add that if you planned on getting a squeegee, don’t, as it will ruin your film sooner or later.

good luck with it, you will be hooked in no time
MarkKeymasterderfelParticipantjust for comparison’s sake, I remember paying 50 for a kit with tank etc and 30 for a changing
bag in Camera exchange, and about 30 for chemicals in Cork.
