All we need now is someone to do this in Cork :)
Ah c’mon outta that Mark, a trip to the big smoke for a day and meet some PI members. Go for it.
ExpresbroParticipantHi Peter,
Just wondering will we need to bring anything on the day apart from the roll of film? Notebooks etc..or will you have notes made up?
Looking forward to it.
Still need to get my hands on a film camera. Am waiting for a Ricoh KR 10M Film SLR I’ve ordered off of Ebay..so hopefully will arrive early next week :-)
Edit: Sorry Peter..should have read more carefully. Notes provided.
I just want to check something since I know nothing about developing. After I take a roll of b/w film, I have to take it to a camera shop and get it developed so that I have the Negatives right? Not just bring the exposed roll of film?

Hi Robbie,
Yes notes will be provided but bring a notebook and pen to record anything else that comes up on the day.
Get your roll of film developed and don’t forget to shoot 6 continuous frames with the lens cap on. You can also bring other negatives that you may have should you wish to print one of those.
I’ll pm everyone over the weekend with directions etc.
Peter
thefizzParticipantExpresbroParticipantAnother quick question regarding something I was asked earlier. Do the negatives need to be uncut or cut, or does it matter? Apparently most places will cut the negs into strips unless asked not to.

Hi Robbie,
Ask them to cut the negs in strips of 6 but don’t worry if you bring a full roll to the workshop has we can cut them ourselves then.

ExpresbroParticipantExpresbroParticipantThanks for an informative and fun day Peter. As I said already..I wont be trading in my D80 just yet  ..but it was great to see a darkroom in operation and get my fingers into that Developer, Stop and Fixer..many times…too many times some might say …
Was an eye opener and really enjoyable…messed up more than once …but that’s part of the learning process…but was great to see the image appear on the paper ..when I remembered to remove the safe filter on the enlarger that is!!
Thanks again…was well worth doing….look forward to the next time I get under that red light 8) 8)
thefizzParticipantHi Robbie,
Glad you enjoyed the day, it went by so quickly. I think Brian, Sylvie and Sharon all had fun too.
Who knows, I might convert you to the Dark Side yet. You do seem to like working in red light areas
Peter
thefizzParticipantThanks Mark for leaving this thread up as a sticky for the last few weeks. I hope to organise another workshop in September/October. If anyone is interested, pm and let me know.
