David Kitt at Cyprus Avenue in Cork last night. All C&C appreciated, especially skin tone, to me it looks about right- is it?

I like the shot, the backlight is very nice .. I might be tempted to crop in closer to the face placing the light beam coming out of the top right corner ..kind of surrounding him.. you can’t see the guitar or his hads so its not loosing any content really if you try it ..

I’ll try that crop over the weekend some time. Good point about the hands/guitar. Skin tone look OK to you?
I’m not using a very good screen at the moment – but skin looks good to me ;) .. I think anyway with the stage lighting you wouldn’t expect too natural a look in this kind of situation .. but I’m no expert but I would expect to see the blue tones and hues from the lights on the skin:)

Here’s a crop of same. I tried various ratios (in preference to free-cropping and ending up with some odd looking shape!) and settled on 1:1 or square. I also tried to make it a bit “warmer” in there for him, hopefully his pride won’t suffer ;) . Hmm, because the crop is from a small area, now you can see the image isn’t as sharp as I’d like it to be! I had fun choosing the crop frame.

For a live gig shot, the pure technical quality is superb. Exposure, colour, lack of noise, sharpness.. very nice shot.
Fantastic crop. It’s a different picture now, a far superior one. You’ve captured the whole essence of ‘performance’. Cracking!

Thanks for your positive feedback, a nice boost :). I’m pleased about the skin tone too (that ws my main reason for posting).
