Took this while out covering the above job for Paper.

Had no tripod with me, but saw these girls singing by the waters edge, and a lady playing the harp. Thought i was in Heaven.

Two seperate exposures, spot metered , one for sky then one for the girls. I did not want the girls to bright, as would have taken the mood away i think.

I left the camera mans mic in.

Imagine hearing them singing and playing without knowling what was going on! Almost a shame the mike (and other person) are in – it’s just not teh sort of thing you see every day.

Hi Sean, great shot. When you say 2 seperate shots what did you do then. Did you blend them together and if so how did you do it.

Very surreal shot and just noticed the other dude in the background setting up the tripod.
Not sure about the mike in or out, but it tells the story

Saw this on the front of the Inish Times, although I don’t recall the sound boom on there. A nice shot nonetheless.

Just two shots , one metered for teh sky, then the other metered for the foreground, then masked them in ps.

Sean, great image, but did you not see those beautiful rocks in the background? I generally find that once you’ve seen one beauty with a harp on a beach you’ve seen them all. Three together might have made me look twice but I would probably still have said excuse me to get past to those lovely rocks.

Fair play to stoycho for remaining steadfast in his concentration on rocks, despite all the loveliness going on around him.

Sean, remind me never to take you caving in my dinghy. The mermaids would have a field day with you.
