Please have a look at mine and see what you think.

So far there are only a few out of the thousands of pics i have, i just didnt realise i had so many and it is very hard work going through them all. I have put varied ones on there to mix them all up so i havent too many of the same theme.

The website is brand new and i wanted a simple but easy to operate site that loaded very fast which i think my webdesigner gave me.

    Hey Tara,

Im going to critique your website here as I think that’s what you want!

First off I like the site… it does load fast (I have a very fast internet connection but I can see the images are a small size and good quality for web display). I like the idea of the film strip border around the main content area on the site – works well. It’s nice and compact too. I usually don’t like moving or scrolling images on websites… but the scrolling preview seems to fit in ok.

A couple of things that hopefully will be constructive…

First thing I will mention is the right-click being disabled. OK it works and will stop most people from “Saving As” your photos… but if you know how it is quite easy to disable. Also once an image is displayed on someones monitor it is already in their PC’s ‘temporary files’ which can be accessed easily. But apart from all that, the right-click is not disabled in your gallery, which is where all your content is. So it’s not really doing anything!

Your gallery is not really integrated well into your site in my opinion… when I clicked on it first I thought it took me to a different site as it doesn’t have the same menus etc… The only similarity is the background colour, which is still off as the main site has a background image which the gallery doesn’t… You could get your webdesigner to try use ‘Coppermine’ or similar for your gallery. It would be a bit of work to change, but I find that works well. The background colour yellow (or orange? sorry Im a bit colour blind) is very harsh… I’d suggest a softer colour as if you’re going to be browsing your images for a long period of time… it can very hard on the eye.

The Contact page is fine but I’d suggest a link for your info email address as well as the form, as I find some people prefer to use email directly for contact… and maybe a phone number if you wanted?! (So people can hassle you about when their prints are arriving!!)

As I said I like the site and I hope the feed back is constructive…. and remember it’s just my opinion :)

ohh and ps… there should be two t’s in “unforgettable” (home page) … ;)

Thanks Jay i like people who say as they see otherwise we get nowhere.

I will pass all you bits on to the fella who did the site for me and appreciate the points you made.

The colour was down to me as i saw it on another site and thought it didnt interfere with skies or other backgrounds unless you live on Venus or somewhere.

The spelling could have been me  not one of my strongest points

I think a simple change of background for the gallery to your pattern.jpg image would do… save your web guy from doing a lot of work… apart from that I think it is a really nice site… The yellow on the gallery page is a little harsh on the eye compared to your flower (pattern.jp) image…

Is Tara not the dogs name?
