My first sighting of the Great Spotted Woodpecker, was watching him for ages a fascinating bird
heard it drumming also, seems to be a lone male, does anyone know if it will move on if it doesnt
find a mate?

Thanks Dave, yes it was, I think it must be four years since I started looking out
for one, :D so it was about time! Next on my list is a Cuckoo, haven’t seen one of them
since I was about twelve years old!Wow!

Thanks Peter! I am sure in the not to distant future they will be as common here as they are now in the UK.
That’s a great shot, Jenny! The colours and feathers, around its head especially, are very realistic looking..ruffled or such.
He also looks a bit chubby.
