Depth of Field too shallow?

Just came across Helicon Focus and was wondering if anybody here has tried it yet. Essentially what you do is Focus Bracket (instead of Exposure bracket) and the software merges the images together to produce a single image with a greater apparent depth of field.

Now, how do I go about using this in conjunction with exposure bracketing; heck let’s throw in white balance bracketing too an produce the “perfect” shot (well, technically at least) :D

    Hmmm… not convinced.

Why would you want to do this? Why not just get it right in camera? I suppose when handholding in low light, you could use a wide aperture, and multiple shots, but surely you’ll get a number of “perfectly” focused areas, and waves of less focussed bits (as the focus falls off in each shot). Unless you take 1000 shots, that is.

I’m not sure the results would look natural, as even shots taken at super narrow apretures have SOME focus fall off….

    Does that make any sense?
