Beautiful compostion and lovely light sparkle from the dew drop. Slight shame about the focus though. It would be nice to see more of the blade of grass, or whatever it is, brought into focus leading to the drop. Good picture though. 8)

Really like this conmike. :) Usually i’m not a fan of distracting highlights in the background but i think they set the shot off.
I think a portrait crop would be super and having the grass come from the top right hand corner with dew drop on the diagonal .

Oh nice idea Ali. Never thought of that, but could see a huge improvement with your crop.

I was always told to think of reading a photo from left to right – so I flipped it round – what do you think?

Yeah daky,i really like it.i think it’s better like that!!
Allthough the more I keep looking at it I’m not sure now.Perhaps it’s because I am used to it the way i shot it….Lol,i don’t know anymore, I’m all confused !!!

It’s always a personal choice. It was pointed out to me a number of years ago with a photo of a boat that I had and true enough that one worked well when I reversed the negative (showing my age here). The guy told me that we normally read from left to right and our brains come to expect to see the main focus of an image on the right. Your image seemed ripe to try it out on – apologies for doing it without your permission. Bad manners on my part.

ah no,it’s cool.i am fine with people doing stuff to my shots.I recently read about the left to right thing ,and it being because thats the way we read. And i remember when i uploaded it from the cam thinking it would be better that way. I just went onto google and learnt how you did it in photoshop so it’s been a learning experience for me.I’m still undecided as to what way i like it best.I’ve also got Ali’s crop suggestion and having THAT flipped to consider!!

Never thought about that before – it really does makes a difference in this picture, much easier to follow thru the grass blade right up to the tip and the due drop… Brilliant, thanks for sharing that Daky, much appreciated!

    I like the drop.
I ‘cleared’ the background to bring more up the drop.
    Quick job.

Lovely crop Ali. I especially like the way the drop is perfectly centred now, rules or no rules. Nice one!
