Digital Printing for a small price

Hello, this is my first post and I hope to get to know you all over time. I was hoping that someone may be able to suggest a cheap, digtal printer with as high DPI as possible. Im a student and dont have much cash, but im ready to start a hard portfolio and want a beginner level printer but one that will last me until I start making some money in ‘the real world’.

A large print would also be preferred. At least A4 and if not bigger. I’ve searched the usual places but as yet can’t see anything. Does such a machine even exist?! Please help, thank you…

The cost isn’t so much in the actual printer, but in the ink. I suggest you just use the Kodak machines and so forth in the pharmacies, or order your prints online. It will work out cheaper per print than buying a printer for them I think….

If you are looking for a printer that will last through your student days and does not cost the earth, my suggestion is that you get printing done online with say… Photobox or Dlab7.

this way you get exactly the number of prints at the size you want on 5 days delivery, no capital cost of printer and the service will remain futureproof.

Thats a good point. I suppose the online printing is a good way to go for now. And the ink is quite expensive.! Thanks for the help in making up my mind…
