As per a recent thread, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to house recommendations/ experiences on where to have prints made, offering a resource for anyone here looking to have prints made themselves.
If you’ve used a local or online printing service, and have any feedback to provide, or simply to suggest a recommended print service in your locale, please feel free to chime in..
Hard to leave this thread continue, without working in a plug for Steve Crozier’s 360dpi here, after seeing some of the exhbition prints he made and framed here for a member here a few years ago. Beautiful high quality printing and framing, and definitely my first port of call, when it comes time to have some larger prints made.
In terms of what’s available locally to me here in Waterford city, there’s a variety of options from various pharmacies to Harvey Norman and Soundstore that offer printing services. The cream of the crop would appear to be Sam McCauley’s chemist in the city centre which only came to my attention a while ago, and aside from just prints also offers 35mm & 120 film processing services, which I find quite impressive these days. I haven’t personally used any of these services, and just putting them out there, should anyone be looking for printing options, and be unaware of the above.
Feel free to chime in whats either available in your locale, or that you personally could recommend or offer feedback. A knowledge bank of printing services I’m thinking would be a great resource for members here, especially these days where it’s easy to let images rot on our hard drives :)
