I shot these on a visit… I don’t live in Ireland… curious to hear what yous think. I shoot film so… the one on the left is Ilford 3200 and the right is Fuji NPZ. I’m always looking for images that make a good pair for my site and my portfolio… Do yous think the images play well off each other?? let us know … cheers! :D
I suppose the patterns and toning allow them to sit well together-
and reduced like this, they look similarly presented-
But beyond that, I can’t help wondering what links the two pictures-
unless we’re being asked to make leaps of the imagination-
I’m assuming that the prison is Kilmainham Gaol-
which has huge symbolism and resonance in Ireland-
and I can’t link the gentleman on the left to that particular building.
Maybe you could tell us a bit more about the connection you want to make-
two good pictures on their own,
but their juxtaposition implies something extra-
The split toning on the interior picture seems maybe a little strong-
though I suppose its meant to be seen in the context of others on your site-
where it could be just fine-
Good to see you posting- hope to see more-
and the pictures here don’t have to be of Ireland, you know-
Thanx J… good crit! Make them leaps of the imagination! :D hhhmmmm.. the 2nd looks split toned?? thats weird… I didn’t do anything to it. The only one that I sepia toned is the one of the bloke.
