I keep shooting my favorite theme in the Bull Island area… all environment related stuff… I hope to do use some of them as a proof of what was happening in the area in the past, and people would be more responsible…

Environmental issues aside, here are my quick thoughts:

    * The litter isn’t well defined – If the purpose of this pic is to provide some sort of shock value the litter has to jump out at you or at least be very evident
    * No detail or contrast in the foreground – The grass is lost, no detail in the wall
    * Foreground too dark – Background too light – I’d reverse them – This will help bring out the detail in the foreground
    * Not feeling the border – Thin on the top/bottom, thicker on the sides.. I’d reverse that configuration

    Hopes this helps amigo.

    Hi J.
I’m a bit slow to answer to your post…
Thanks for your advice, will try something else with CS2. Not sure I know how to use it perfectly at this stage, I would say it’s more playing around and seeig what people think of the final result.
    I’ve enclosed the original picture.
    Thanks, Urszula

I like your last edit, really brings out the rubbish in the shot. (Never thought I’d use that phrase to compliment a photo!!)

I agree with Ken. From looking at the first picture I feel drawn to the background i.e. the tall chimneys. However the last pic posted has a more powerful message in that it draws the viewer to the “rubbish”.

    Hope this helps.

If the ‘litter’ is the impact of the image and the message you’re trying to get across, yes your last edit certainly works.. well done.. now let’s find the perp’s..
