A series of skyscapes I took when on various flights.

#4 is my favourite. It has a certain “sunset” quality about it – good tones, nice shadow effects on the clouds, a warm tone to the lighting.

Without sounding too critical, shots like these are impressive in that they are unusual, but they lack a certain component that makes them a “WOW” shot. Maybe it’s the lack of a definite subject or dramatic lighting. They’re almost like landscape shots which don’t have any foreground detail to give a sense of scale.

just my 2c worth….i’m very new to photography, so don’t take my comments as serious criticism

    Hi Ashley,

Had a look at these yesterday and really couldn’t
    make up my mind.

I too liked #4 best although I think the haze could be
lessened a bit with your PP software.
The splash of sunrise/set colour give it a lift and there is
    a nice cloud formation.

I think the rest are a bit ordinary but that’s only my opinion and
a lot of us have taken shots like this.
    I know I have.

    Cheers,

    John.

There was a plane flying past in the last flight which would’ve made a nice subject manner, but I didn’t get it at the time. Camera bag was tucked away.

Cheers for the comments though. :D
