Do I need a new printer? When will I need CIS?

Hey all

I have a Canon Pixma IP5200 printer.
It produces really nice, crisp photo prints, but is a little thirsty on ink.

Can anyone tell me if there is a world of difference between this printer and some of the more up-to-date models?

It doesn’t seem as though there is a reputable CIS system available for this printer (other than the ebay stuff) , and I may want to incorporate one of these at some stage – can anyone recommend where to go on this?
