Does it count if its from the zoo

If zoo shots don’t count then I’m in trouble! What’s missing here is eye contact. I’ve loads of these side on shots of the Amur’s drinking but I don’t even process them. I’m yet to get one of them or the Bengals drinking while getting eye contact.
GrahamBParticipantSodafarlMemberGraham and Aidan, here is my attempt at a similar shot almost got the eye contact .
SodaGrahamBParticipanti smell a challenge coming on.
there is going be dozens of photbugs
in the zoo this weekend trying to better each other.joe_elwayParticipantNot me. My feet are up for the weekend. I still haven’t processed zoo shots from last week. My best ones were posted here.
The trick is patience and timing. You get to understand some of what the cats are up to and can predict a little bit. Body language can help too. This also works for the big uns in the wild too. Wait long enough and you’ll get something. Robbie would have seen how long I was in front of the Lions to get a few shots last week. And some animals don’t play full stop … they are “wild” after all, e.g. the African Dogs (sub sahara) sleep almost all of the day. I know there’s potential for great action shots because they have the same society as wolves. We saw a teaser last week as a weaker dog approached the alpha submissively but we had no eye contact. So just like shooting the wild, I only expect to maybe get 1 or 2 shots out of a full day, sometimes none and sometimes more.
stcstcMemberit depends on what you mean about them counting, if you mean for competitions to IPF rules then no they dont count,
but if you mean do they count as great nature photos, i think yes. I know i am not likely to go on photo safari in the near future so this is my only way of getting to photograph these animals.
