    Thanks John.
The rope was there but my lense is behind it. (I used 30mm).

I feel you could have got more detail in the stone Roberto. It looks gorgeous when i pry into it perhaps the detail is there just need to be brightened a bit. Its a lovely composition and a beautiful sky. But I know how hard poulnabrone is, particularly now with the opw’s wisdom to put a rope around it.

I left Portlaoise one morning at 6am to go to Poulnabrone to take a shot here. Got there and found the rope around it, was gutted. I started to remove the rope to hear a guy shouting ” Get the blah blah blah, I came to an agreement with him that he should go home early, and i dropped some ropes( which i put back when i was finished).

So I shot in B&W and cloned out the rest of the rope. I googled for shots of it before i went down and I found what I thought was an interesting version. Heres my effort, its a total copy. I love it, bust most people comment unfavourably on it. Thats the joy of photography.

John, I seen your dolmen before and love it.
I tried something different. I wanted to make an old time feeling and think that the first photo is not too far from it.
It’s pity I could not upload the biger version but I am out of space in my gallery.

I am with John with this image Roberto. I think that it is a bit too dark in the shadows. You need to see some detail in the stone work. You have nice detail in the clouds. When i was there i had to mix it with 2 bus loads of people in the rain. So i went back the next morning at 6:00 and took this shot. Here is the link to my site with the image. Did not want to post here and takke over your post. http://www.nmsphoto.com/gallery.php?pg=2&cat=4037

    Thanks Neil for the comment.
Your dolmen is beautiful with perfect clouds.
Here is my brighter version. Needs small retouch in the horizon.

Stunning roberto. Really nails it. Id still clone out the barrier behind though. It is the only thing that couldn not have been there for millenia

Yes getting better. Now you can realy see that f….. rope. Clone it out and retouch the light area of sky on the horizon then you will have it sorted.

I much prefer the conversion in this – and you’ve brought up the detail beautifully.. and without seeing the rope – definately improved… :D

You’ll hate me :) But I notice that you cloned the sky around the dolmen in this version, I wish you hadn’t! But hey !! – you can’t please eveyone so you might aswell please yourself :D
